Christmas Presents - Donald's Family

January 10, 2018
I left a lot of my Christmas presents a little bit later than I would usually like this year, so I was looking for things that were cute to make but maybe didn't take up a huge amount of time to finish.

For Donald's mum I decided to make some crocheted pot holders. I used this free pattern from Crochet and Company, which was double layered to make sure they were nice and heat-proof. I also attached this lovely daisy applique, to make them a bit cuter.

The only difference I made was instead of sewing the two halves together, I double crocheted the whole way round, doing a 15 chain in one corner for the loop, and then reattaching it as I continued to double crochet around. I also used a 5mm hook for the pot holders and a 3.5mm hook for the daisy.

For Donald's sisters and their husbands, I made a couple of sets of crochet coasters, using this pattern from Crochet 'n' Create.
