Who Is Phone? Cross Stitch

September 06, 2017
Yet another present, this time it's a housewarming one! Two of our awesome mates Jim and Jenn recently bought a house, and moved to the outskirts of town, which is actually nearer us. Yay!

They had a housewarming party a couple of weeks ago, and while we couldn't go for as long as we wanted because Ivy was ill (I ended up going solo), I still got to give them their pressie!

So one night when they were over they introduced me to this awesome Creepy Pasta "Who was phone?" and I decided it would make an awesome cross stitch hoop for them.

I'm impressed that I spent so long Googling whether it was 'then who was phone' or 'but who was phone', decided to just leave that first word out to get it right, and after all that I managed to stitch 'who is phone' and not realise until after I had backed the stitching...but they still loved it. I feel it still conveys the point (though the perfectionist is my is still quite annoyed!).

I used my favourite tool to make your own written patterns, and I then added some cute flower detail from I Got 99 Problems but A Stitch Ain't One by Genevieve Brading to make it look a bit more homely.

I also backed it was some plain grey fabric to finish it off, and hide the mess of my stitches!

I've been doing a lot of crochet lately, so it was nice to take a break and do some cross stitch. Though I have been getting the itch for some knitting lately (maybe it's the cold weather), so we'll see what ends up on my WIP pile next!
